If you’re on top of your fashion trends, you may have noticed a certain look sneaking back in to our fashion universe: lame. If you were alive in the 80s, the mere sight of the word may send you into a flashback of stirrup pants, legwarmers, oversize tops with leggings, and bright neon colors. Wait a minute— aren’t all of those things sneaking back in, as well? At any rate, it seems some of the 80s fashion trends that we have tried to forget in the past 20 years are coming back. Just take a look at the Hollywood celebutantes—Lindsay Lohan even has her own legging line now! (On a side note: Lindsay has a pair with built-in kneepads called Mr. President!!) If you’re bound and determined to keep up with the trends but are a little gun-shy, it’s perfectly okay to just accessorize or use just one or two pieces. No one is saying you have to go out on the hunt for lamé leggings, with an oversize lamé top, lamé belt, and lamé legwarmers. In fact, please don’t put all those pieces together at once or you may find yourself causing traffic accidents for all the oh-so-wrong reasons. One idea: if you’re wearing an all-black outfit that calls for a belt, a lamé belt could be a cute detail. It’s also a fun idea to look for a dress that pairs lamé with another material, such as tulle. If you stick to lamé as a “trim” and not the main dish, you won’t be banished back to the 80s!
If you are looking to buy a wonderfully fitted garment that requires little to no effort in caring and can still look its best despite the years, a good choice are either dresses or skirts. To achieve your goal for a garment that will look great on you and that is versatile enough to look adequately at work or at an after work important meeting or reunion, then you should look for these pieces in knitwear.
The right piece of course, has to be according to your size, consider that this type of fabric will cling tightly to your body and that it might shrink a little bit depending on the type of thread with which it has been woven. Either an adequate color will round up the apparel and create an attractive look for yourself that will get you noted at work or in society should you be looking to be noted by the opposite sex.
Having one single garment will prove to be insufficient once you have tasted the wonderful fit that this fabric can give you, however, buying too many garments can cause precisely the opposite effect since it do requires specialized caring and caring for too many pieces can be overwhelming and time consuming.
