Are you a fan of handbags? Are you unable to leave your house without stopping somewhere to buy handbags? Handbags are very important accessories to any woman’s wardrobe. Without the right handbag, an entire assemble can quickly become a disaster. So what are the right designer handbags? Some of the best-looking bags on the market today are the Chloe handbags. I can personally recommend a favorite of mine, the Chloe Cyndi Tote.
The Chloe Cyndi Tote comes in a beautiful taupe that has the perfect rainy day grey look to it. I was initially attracted to the Chloe Cyndi Tote out of all the Chloe handbags because it is pleasing to the eye without being too busy. It is a perfect neutral that will go with almost anything in your closet.
All of the rivets on the Chloe Cyndi Tote are fashioned to look like big flat head screws, giving off a feeling of heavy duty. The feeling is further enhanced by the silver carabineers, like the ones that mountain climbers use, holding the bag’s handle in place. The Chloe Cyndi Tote has all the room you could ever ask for in a handbag. I love my Chloe Cyndi Tote. You can get your own Chloe Cyndi Tote online today for about $2200.
If you’re on top of your fashion trends, you may have noticed a certain look sneaking back in to our fashion universe: lame. If you were alive in the 80s, the mere sight of the word may send you into a flashback of stirrup pants, legwarmers, oversize tops with leggings, and bright neon colors. Wait a minute— aren’t all of those things sneaking back in, as well? At any rate, it seems some of the 80s fashion trends that we have tried to forget in the past 20 years are coming back. Just take a look at the Hollywood celebutantes—Lindsay Lohan even has her own legging line now! (On a side note: Lindsay has a pair with built-in kneepads called Mr. President!!) If you’re bound and determined to keep up with the trends but are a little gun-shy, it’s perfectly okay to just accessorize or use just one or two pieces. No one is saying you have to go out on the hunt for lamé leggings, with an oversize lamé top, lamé belt, and lamé legwarmers. In fact, please don’t put all those pieces together at once or you may find yourself causing traffic accidents for all the oh-so-wrong reasons. One idea: if you’re wearing an all-black outfit that calls for a belt, a lamé belt could be a cute detail. It’s also a fun idea to look for a dress that pairs lamé with another material, such as tulle. If you stick to lamé as a “trim” and not the main dish, you won’t be banished back to the 80s!
If you are looking to buy a wonderfully fitted garment that requires little to no effort in caring and can still look its best despite the years, a good choice are either dresses or skirts. To achieve your goal for a garment that will look great on you and that is versatile enough to look adequately at work or at an after work important meeting or reunion, then you should look for these pieces in knitwear.
The right piece of course, has to be according to your size, consider that this type of fabric will cling tightly to your body and that it might shrink a little bit depending on the type of thread with which it has been woven. Either an adequate color will round up the apparel and create an attractive look for yourself that will get you noted at work or in society should you be looking to be noted by the opposite sex.
Having one single garment will prove to be insufficient once you have tasted the wonderful fit that this fabric can give you, however, buying too many garments can cause precisely the opposite effect since it do requires specialized caring and caring for too many pieces can be overwhelming and time consuming.
Rogan, who’s full name is actually Gregory Rogan, is this summer’s Target GO International Designer. He has designed a ready-to-wear affordable collection for women, available exclusively and for a limited time at Target stores.
When I first saw the commercials for this line, I wasn’t thrilled. Even several days later, I was still not feeling it. Now that I’ve taken the time to look over more pieces, I think the choices highlighted in the television commercial really do not do the line justice.
What stood out to me in the t.v. commercial was that it seemed predominantly black-and-white and animal prints. Haven’t animal prints already been done and died for now? I thought I wasn’t going to be ready for animal prints again for another decade.
The part that intrigued me about the collection is that the fabrics are organic and natural. Ah, a return to natural fabrics. Eco-friendly fashion strikes my fancy. So, with a little renewed interest, I checked out the line more in-depth.
Evaluation: Not bad. Not my favorite Target GO International line (I think the Jovovich-Hawk line gets my vote for favorite!), but not my least favourite, either. Let’s explore a bit, shall we?
Yes, there is a lot of white and black. But if you’re going to design a ready-to-wear collection for the masses, it’s a practical idea. A few pieces that can be mixed and matched can really extend the consumer’s wardrobe.
There are a couple of outfits that remind me of things you’d see on little girls—a romper and a short plaid dress. But I like that return to something a bit traditional and sweet. Not necessarily good for all body types, but isn’t that almost always true of high fashion?
Finally, the bathing suits are way sexy. I can picture them being described in a Jackie Collins novel. And they’re one-pieces! Hooray for the mix of sexalicious and modesty!
I am a long-time fan of Milla Jovovich. I was first a fan of her young modeling career, then her acting, then her fashion designing, and now her life as a new mother to a beautiful little girl. But I think my love of her as a model is what thrills me so much about her fashion line.
Created in 2003 with model Carmen Hawk, the pieces can be found in over 50 stores around the world. The designers tout their line as being wearable for all sizes and body types—a fact that probably helped it gain a collection with Target’s GO International line in 2007.
The pieces are classic, perhaps even a tad retro, but with enough modernity to be highly wearable and stylish today. The line is very thought-out and the ladies are extremely hands-on, having not even hired anyone to help sew their garments until 2005!
Milla Jovovich, continuing her acting career in “Resident Evil: Extinction”, wore pieces from her fashion line. Quite a fantastic marketing move to combine three passions into one venue!
Though still a relatively new collection, I think the Jovovich-Hawk line is one to keep an eye on. Milla has shown the fashion world that she has true staying power. Not only can she still model, I think her fashion line will continue to evolve, grow, and expand to different retail markets. It’s definitely a line to keep your eyes on.
What do the Olympics and fashion have in common? This summer, twelve famous fashion minds will interpret various Olympic events through one-of-a-kind fashions.
The fashions will be highlighted, one at a time, throughout the Olympics. Following the completion of the Beijing Olympic Games, the fashions will be auctioned off. The direct beneficiary of the auction proceeds will be UNICEF’s Driving Dreams project.
The collection, called “The Collective: Synergy in Fashion”, will feature designs by: 3.1 Phillip Lim, Alberta Ferretti, Alexander McQueen, Burberry Prorsum, Costume National, Emilio Pucci, Givenchy, Maison Martin Margiela, Neil Barrett, Rick Owens, Stella McCartney and Yves Saint Laurent.
The collection is the brainchild of Lane Crawford, a Hong Kong-based retailer. Sketches of the designs can be found online but the real fashions will undoubtedly be awe-inspiring.
Some of the interpreted sports are: running, gymnastics, fencing, sailing, archery, badminton, equestrian, and table tennis.
The organization benefiting from the sale of the fashion items, Unicef’s Driving Dreams Project, seeks to bring sports activities and life skills to children in villages throughout China. The project was launched in 2005, originally with car manufacturer Audi. The program also seeks to bring computers to classrooms and establish learning centers.
Now, when will we see fashion designers take on Audi vehicles?
It’s only fair to spend some time talking about Men’s Swimwear trends for 2008. The good news for guys is, not much has changed since last year! Board shorts (the longer trunks that are around knee-length) are still going to be the most popular choice.
Don’t let the name fool you—board shorts are not just for surfers. Board shorts look good on just about any male body type, whereas tighter and shorter suits do not.
If you’re a pro swimmer or swim for sport in some fashion, you’re probably more comfortable with the smaller, tighter suits. No, I’m not talking about banana hammocks and itty bitty Speedos. Just more like shorter shorts that are close fitting.
At any rate, it’s kind of the same as women’s suits—if you have the body for it, and the confidence, it’s okay. If you don’t, please try the board short option.
Some other things guys need to think about when preparing to wear a swim suit—hair and footwear. I’m not talking about hair styles. If you’re going in the water, it’s gonna get wet so that’s not too important.
The hair you need to make some choices about is located on your back and chest. Some hair is fine. Looking like a bear is not in style right now so consider a wax.
As for footwear, it’s okay to wear regular tennis shoes to the beach, but remember that the sand can get *really* hot and you may not want to keep putting on tennis shoes every time you’re walking up to the concession stand or bathrooms. Sandals are a perfect choice and they come in plenty of styles—with ankle straps, without ankle straps, in leather, or fabric.
If you can deal with it, take along a trusted friend when you’re shopping for your trunks. A trusted and fashionable friend, that is.
Summer has arrived, as have desires to hit the beach, the pool, or just the backyard. Summer time leads to fantastic feelings of fashion freedom. Shorts, flip flops, short sleeves, etc. The more skin you can expose while remaining within the law, the better!
So it’s time to tackle fabulous swimwear options for 2008. There’s a style for every body type, so don’t worry if you haven’t been kicking up your exercise program these last couple of months. Right now, the only exercise you need is to keep your eyes moving down the page.
Continuing a trend that was just getting off its feet last summer is the growing popularity of one-piece suits. These one-pieces, sometimes known as tank suits, are making a comeback as the new sexy. Remember the days when it was scandalous to have bare ankles in public? Well, I don’t remember either, but I do remember hearing about that somewhere along the line.
Can you imagine being able to make someone breathe heavy just by flashing an ankle? Well, I’m certainly not suggesting you go that far in your cover-up, but why not leave some surprises? A simple return to semi-modesty with a one-piece bathing suit can be the sexiest thing you do all year. And, you know, your dad will be happier, too.
Also a continuing trend is the retro swimsuit look. Think Marilyn Monroe and Jackie-O. These swimsuits can be either one pieces or two pieces but tend to cover more area than modern one-pieces and bikinis. Urban Outfitters has a great retro swimwear collection to check out. Throw on some oversized shades, grab your beach towel and you’re all set for some nifty times at the pool!
Finally, if you’re not at all interested in modesty, or tan lines, bandeau-style bikinis are the way to go. These tops look basically like a 3 or 4 inch band of spandex that goes all the way around your chest. Be careful if you want to go in the water and swim, though—these small tops have a bad habit of coming loose and exposing way too much!
No matter what swimsuit you choose this season, don’t forget to put some time into choosing a cute cover-up, as well. Have fun!
